Corded or Uncorded? Choosing the Right EZ-Twist™ for Your Team
In the world of industrial safety, there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution. Even within a single facility, different roles require different gear. Now that we've introduced the PIP EZ-Twist™ series, the most common question we get is: Which version should I stock?
Today, we break down the practical applications for both models so you can make an informed decision for your safety program.
The Case for Corded (267-HPF610C)
As seen in our latest graphic, the corded model features a durable black PVC cord. This is the "go-to" choice for many electrical and maintenance professionals for several reasons:
-
Tethered Security: The cord allows workers to hang the plugs around their neck when they move into a "quiet zone," ensuring the PPE is never lost or dropped.
-
High-Movement Reliability: If a plug is bumped or dislodged during physical labor, the cord prevents it from falling into machinery or contaminated debris.
-
Ease of Compliance: It is much easier for safety managers to verify that a worker has their ear plugs ready when the cord is visible around their collar.
The Case for Uncorded (267-HPF610)
The uncorded version offers the exact same NRR 30 protection and PowerSoft™ foam technology but in a streamlined, low-profile package.
-
Eliminating Snag Hazards: In environments with high-speed rotating parts or tight spaces, cords can be a safety risk. Uncorded plugs remove the danger of the PPE getting caught in equipment.
-
Arc Flash & Hood Integration: For workers wearing full Arc Flash suits or welding hoods, the uncorded version is often preferred because it won't interfere with the seal of the hood or the comfort of the headgear.
-
Bulk Efficiency: For high-turnover areas or visitor stations, uncorded plugs are easy to dispense and provide a lightweight, "set-and-forget" solution for an entire shift.
The Shared Standard: "Insert & Twist"
Regardless of which style you choose, both models feature the patented blue stem that allows for hygienic, no-roll insertion. Your team gets the same high-visibility orange foam, the same star-patterned grip, and the same pressure-free comfort all day long.
